Samantha Awashish | “This Training Program has brought meaning to my life…
“This Training Program has brought meaning to my life. The grounds, the rocks, the strong holds I was looking for I found here. They were already within me, I just needed to be reminded. I don’t feel afraid anymore of life and the obstacles I have to face everyday, as a woman, a single mother, a youth worker, and a community member. I now know that everything happening in life is for a reason. A reason to show hope to others, who feel there is none left. I am truly grateful to be in this training and to have the opportunity train others in life skills. Thank you to the organizers, the Elders, and especially Tulshi Sen, and to my peers that were in this training with me.” Read More |

Abraham Bearskin | “Nishiiyuu: This training is medicine for the mind to mind, heart to heart, soul to soul”…
“Nishiiyuu: Touching the inner ward journey, a glimpse of reality. Such hope, such blessings from Nishiiyuu, a gift from the Creator. The Creator of living beings, the heavens, the earth, the waters, stone people, mountain and the seasons of change. All this for me. Everywhere around me include the air I breath, the winds, this is for me and all. I am Nishiiyuu, of past, present and the future. My blessings, I cherish past, present and the future. My ancestors, they never left, they are here working. I listen closely, I hear them, I listen to Nishiiyuu, I list to the Creator, how awesome. Thank you so much.Nishiiyuu: This training is medicine for the mind to mind, heart to heart, soul to soul. It is a journey of hope, healing, and reality. A journey of our ancestor roots of Nishiiyuu, the very heart of nothing to something. The void to reality. Truth of freedom. A journey of no beginning, no ending. A journey leading to meet ‘my Creator’ I give thanks.” Read More |

Larry House | “This is a timely initiative and well planned and very much needed! …”“After much thought about this program and its’ effects, this is my second time attending this seminar and the depth of what we already know flourishes and gives each and everyone of the attendees’ purpose. We are Nishiiyuu, the ones that were foretold or prophesized. Collectively we have a great resource we need to tap into, to really begin the healing in our nation. This is a timely initiative and well planned and very much needed!….Mistahii Idnanaskoomin, nii Nishiiyuu” Read More |
Pamela Innes | “I need to learn more about myself and I need to learn a lot more about Cree culture…”
“What I have learned from this workshop is that there is still a lot to be learned. I need to learn more about myself and I need to learn a lot more about Cree culture. I am Cree but have never practiced the traditional lifestyle. I may have gone camping or on a spring hunt maybe once or twice but that is the extent of my knowledge. Seeing how deeply rooted people are in the culture has forced me to acknowledge the extensive gap which is missing in my life, my self-identity as a Cree person. Thus, I have a lot of catching up to do and learn to accomplish, so that I can feel competent in my ability to bring ‘Nishiiyuu’ to others.” Read More |

Margaret S. Louttit | “These are the teachings I have been waiting for to help my people, especially Cree children and youth…”
“I am very grateful and honored to be part of this training. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. One elder told me that one day I will meet a very powerful teacher and this was year’s back. Now that I am here and I said to myself on the first day: ‘this is it!’ This is the teacher he was talking about. These are the teachings I have been waiting for to help my people, especially Cree children and youth. The teacher, Tulshi gave me the knowledge, the foundation, the tools and skills to use to deliver the teachings I want to give out in a positive manner. With a grateful heart, thank you to Tulshi, Neil, Sam, Abraham, Elders and to all the people involved to making this training a reality.” Read More |
Maria MacLeod | “Teachings on how to give our children freedom to be who they want to be and where they want to go…”
“The program was introduced to us the meaning Nishiiyuu and how we will be working with our Elders. We were also introduced the Rights of Passage by Abraham Bearskin. The 7 steps on how to build dreams and making them become reality: 1) Intention 2) Attention 3) Imagination 4) Order/Reason 5) Intuition 6) Self-Reliance 7) Manifestation. Exercise on how intention creates reality: 1) BE 2) DO and 3) HAVE. Teachings on the differences between goals and vision. The meaning of the ‘Lord’s Prayer.’ The teachings of the mind on 3 aspects: 1) Records 2) Discrimination 3) Ego. Teachings on healing powers of the land, the trees, the water, the birds, and the wind. Teaching of the river – river is one the best teachings that we can observe from – the river never flows backwards – never look back, the beginning, the middle and the end remains connected and always goes forward.Teachings from the geese – we should be like the geese, they know their timings when to fly north. Teachings on how to give our children freedom to be who they want to be and where they want to go. The teachings of how God speaks to us, through creation. My summary of our introductory course in January 2012.” Read More |
Mary MacLeod | “Our people had this knowledge and wisdom of Nishiiyuu ways. It was very powerful…”
“The concept of Nishiiyuu Way was already inside of me, it was just never explained to me in our native language. It was a confirmation that we needed. Hearing it gave it a more deeper meaning, lie an immersion of a hidden secret that was deep in my soul, very uplifting and inspiring. It is difficult to put it into words except to say, it feels like coming into the presents of God almighty. When the world is falling apart around you, the global corporate culture that’s programming the humans like zombies; mother nature ravaged of her beauty and its nature purpose in life; the detrition of humanity from alcohol and drugs addictions; the impact of cyber space on our children, losing human connections, the turmoil of families that technologic communications causes among all generations. It was becoming very difficult to see any hope for our future. Our people had this knowledge and wisdom of Nishiiyuu ways. It was very powerful. When I was young, my mom used to take me visiting every Sunday to my aunts and uncles and I always remember their warnings, ‘don’t say that, it might happen.’ A few years back, I had the same reprehending voice in my dreams when I was just waking up, the twilight time our ancestors knew about. It was one of those special dream times when you saw every detail and you knew you were dreaming. From this dream, I know and understood the first proclamation.” Read More |
Patricia Menarick | “I thought this is what I have been looking for since I started my own healing…”
“At our first Nishiiyuu training with Tulshi, I was inspired by him on what and how he was teaching. I could feel my spirit inside me full of joy. I thought this is what I have been looking for since I started my own healing. When I hear him talk about the freedom we can achieve if we let the universe take over, it made me realize that it is possible that we can let go of our past no matter what we went through and that we can live a fear free life. Just as it was with our ancestors before contact, they were at peace, they accepted who they were and they depended on each other with their individual gifts. I believe we can achieve our goal to help our people live in harmony like the way our ancestors did, and that we can have better and healthy communities for our children and youth, but we must commit ourselves as Nishiiyuu and continue to learn from our Elders in order pass on their knowledge and wisdom. I always wished there was something to motivate and encourage our people, especially our youth, using our culture to deal with the negative impacts from the past, and to live and think like our ancestors did. And I believe this is it, the Nishiiyuu Way; this is what will bring back what we have lost.” Read More |
Jeremiah Mistacheesick | “Awesome training, goes back to your roots, your childhood development and looking thoroughly about the past…”“My reflection from the first session: ever since I reached the age to finally start thinking about life, to finally start thinking about my future, I came to realization that one must understand first in understanding themselves before they can move on. I kept having this thought through out my teenage years and work. I would keep to promoting Cree language and Cree culture. In these moments, I kept wondering that there must be something more than this.I started to go deeper in my current situation then discovered that my life is a root; a big root that goes back thousands and thousands of years. I would keep this thought and wondered what they were before e-mail. I’d always say we must encourage our culture & language in programming we do, especially to be proud of who we are. Years and months go by and finally, I receive an e-mail regarding Nishiiyuu Life Skills Training Program back in January 2012. I was not sure if I was coming to the training but I am glad I did.Awesome training, goes back to your roots, your childhood development and looking thoroughly about the past. To me, is this where I belong? Is this for me? Is this what I have always been preaching about? Is this a calling? I felt that I might as well be me and to promote Nishiiyuu Life Skills Development.” Read More |

“Nishiiyuu Life Skills Program helped me to see hope on how to restore the teachings of honor, respect, love, unity and identity back into our lives, families, communities and nation. “It has indeed provided me with greater insight on how we are so privileged, as Eeyou/Eenou…” “I am grateful to partake in the Train the Trainer on Nishiiyuu Life Skills Program. It has indeed provided me with greater insight on how we are so privileged, as Eeyou/Eenou and it is an honor that our Elders, as the wisdom keepers play a pivotal role in the development of this program and knowing that they want the future generations of Eeyou/Eenou Istchee to be grounded, be stronger and truly know their identity as Eeyou/Eenou. Nishiiyuu Way will embark our Eeyou/Eenou nation to good health and prosperity. As Eeyou/Eenou skweh and through humility and grace, I look forward to the pleasures in the opportunity of working with individuals towards guiding them through their waves of positive change. I believe that this training will provide me with much rewards and gratification in contributing in raising and inspiring my children, your children and our children to believe in themselves and be the best that they can be and achieve their big dreams. Meegwetch! to all our honorable ancestors, Elders and those that made this program a reality.”Read More |

“In the first phase of the program, in Val d’Or, QC I had already experienced the empowerment of this program, the first day! I was at a crossroads, where I had been for a while in my life; I was going to make a decision, a decision where it seemed the easy way out, where most beneficial for me financially, and came with less work. |
